The Syndicated National Director – Field Medical Excellence reports to the Sr Director, Global Medical Excellence and Operations and is aligned to the VPs of Medical Affairs to drive achievement of key business objectives, launch readiness for new teams, trainings as needed and other special projects, particularly related to the field Medical Affairs excellence objectives. This position supports all aspects of the co-employment agreement, as appropriate as well as supplements field coaching.

 

 

Responsibilities

Client Focus

  • Lead interviewing and hiring process to ensure alignment for assigned projects.
  • Work closely with client leadership to develop a customer-centric strategic MSL engagement plan with goals and objectives that drive impact in the field. 
  • Drive account planning for assigned teams in collaboration with client and cross functional Syneos stakeholders.
  • Conduct field visits and MSL assessments with coaching as needed for assigned teams.
  • Assist in the professional development of assigned team(s) by being a source of information and guidance.
  • Maintain consistent and open communication with assigned field teams and appropriate client personnel.

Operations Focus

  • Lead continuous quality improvement initiatives with a focus on proactive solution development.
  • Leverage performance data and metrics for assigned areas of responsibility and provide insight to identify proactive solutions with impact to FMACE programs.
  • Identify training needs in US and coordinate training event logistics, training administration and reporting for FMACE.
  • Partner with Global Medical Affairs Excellence and Operations and FMACE team leaders to design custom training solutions based on identified needs.
  • Support the execution of a US centric communications plan in alignment with the FMACE global communications planning.
  • Support Global MA Excellence and Operations in the planning and management that ensures program oversight and governance.
  • Drive Syneos Health connectivity with field personnel by leading engagement and culture initiatives

Job Requirements

 Along with your ability to remain at the forefront of your field, you must possess:

  • Doctorate level scientific degree is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience as field based MSL
  • 2+ years of field based Medical Affairs management  
  • Training in Medical Affairs experience highly preferred
  • Adult learning strategies understanding
  • Experience in multiple therapeutic areas highly preferred
  • Pharmaceuticals launch experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated effectiveness to work cross-divisionally as well as independently 
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to develop and execute plans against objectives in an independent environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent presentation / platform skills
  • Excellent computer skills i.e. Microsoft Office, Access and Excel
  • Ability to be able to document engagements in a contact management system
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver's license to drive to assigned healthcare accounts, unless otherwise specified
