As a Senior Brand Designer at GSW, you will deliver informed, compelling, and innovative design solutions to your team and the client, every time. You will help lead the design discipline to ensure that final design deliverables improve the bottom line. You are imaginative, curious, and adaptable you sweat the small stuff, because you know that great design is in the details. You can juggle multiple projects at a time and organize your workload accordingly. You are self-motivated — you have a true passion coupled with the exceptional ability to translate the vision of our clients into high quality and impactful design. The Senior Brand Designer actively lives the GSW vision for the role of design by creating solutions that maximize the impact of the brand. You have a passion for typography, an in depth, working, academic knowledge of proper design practices and principles, visual trends and shifts in design, He/she actively collaborates with the core team, under the leadership of the Design Director and Associate Design Directors, to fulfill the creative vision for the client. The Brand Designer works closely with the Associate Design Director and Sr. Brand Designer to create on brand design solutions that achieve the strategic goals for the brand. The Brand Designer is expected to collaborate closely with the Creative Team to create and maintain brand equity through design choices that meet the business needs of the brand. The Senior Brand Designer is proficient and competent enough to manage a project on their own with a CD or DD if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Helps lead the Design Discipline at GSW.
  • Creates design solutions for traditional and digital executions – understands brand hallmarks, identity development, typography, design theory, etc.
  • Works with the Associate Design Director and Design Director to leverage new approaches and design tools for the Creative and Design Teams.
  • Researches design processes, methodologies, and historical and current trends in design and creates solutions that are grounded in rational thinking.
  • Collaborates to explore and execute Design Theme and Brand Architecture.
  • Works effectively within team relationships.
  • Understands the importance of budgets and timelines while delivering innovative design solutions.
  • Helps Design Director and Creative Directors with pitches and new business opportunities.

Job Requirements

Education

  • BFA/Combined degree and in design or an adjacent creative field.
  • Industry experience of 7 years or more

Skills

  • Promotes healthy workplace environment conducive to design.
  • Contributes conceptually, when necessary to creative ideation.
  • Overseeing and creating all design elements, from the initial conception to final delivery
  • Review the work of junior designers and interns to give guidance and feedback
  • Use your strong eye for aesthetics and visual details to ensure a quality final product
  • Listen to design needs, come up with ideas and communicate them to clients and other members of the team
  • design tasks and provide support for junior-level design team members
  • Maintain high standards of quality and make sure only the best work is released to clients
  • Collaborate across the organization to drive up standards of digital creativity
  • Able to explore Brand Architecture solutions
