Overview

The Business Manager is an integral role in the overall management of our accounts and our finances at Cadent Medical Communications. The BM acts as a liaison between Account Services and client finance to ensure all client financial obligations are met. The BM is someone who takes initiative and proactively manages and partners with his/her assigned Account Services teams. The person in this position is attentive, shows interest in the subject matter, and can express ideas clearly and accurately. The BM creates clear goals, identifies and finds the resources needed to achieve them, and schedules tasks so that work is completed on time and meets expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client monthly, quarterly, and final reconciliations. Ensure reports are completed in a timely manner and accurate
  • Participate in reconciliation calls with clients and provide any assistance and support on finances
  • Ensure timely billing through coordination with financial analyst
  • Review billing versus accrual and actual and analyze YTD billing/invoices and job status versus client summaries/reconciliation provided to clients
  • Analyze hours reports, review income recognition, and provide income accruals to Finance Manager in partnership with Account Services
  • Review terms of client contract; ensure that Cadent is in compliance with contract at all times
  • Review actual versus estimate on a monthly basis and work with Account Services to achieve estimate or discuss revision of estimate with client for any overages
  • Assist Account Services with any Fee and/or Expense transfers as needed
  • Provide any ad-hoc assistance to Account Services

  • BA/BS degree in accounting or finance
  • 2-3 years’ experience in healthcare communications/agency (Med Comms, PR, or Advertising)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Advanced Excel skills required (VLOOKUP, PIVOT tables, SUMIFs)
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Can effectively manage time, multi-task, and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $50,000 to $80,000.  The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position.  Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.  In addition, some positions MAY include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
