Overview

You may have heard of “medical communications” before or this might be the first time, but if you love data and are interested in applying your scientific acumen within the healthcare and scientific communications industry, this Summer Internship Program within the Scientific and Editorial Services Department at Cadent could be a perfect fit for you.

Cadent is a healthcare communications agency that specializes in medical communications that educate health care providers effectively, but also challenges the status quo to motivate behavior change. The company excels in translating complex science into compelling stories that deliver value and action. Throughout the process, a key objective is to build relationships and collaboration between the biopharmaceutical industry and healthcare professionals.

During this 12-week summer internship program, you’ll have an opportunity to learn how to apply client strategy to the development of high science communication tactics that could include traditional (slide presentations, white papers, manuscripts) as well as outside-the-box deliverables (data visualization and infographics, mechanism of action videos). Joining the team, you receive hands-on training in every stage of the process and can work across agency departments to develop and finalize content that meets our standard for flawless execution.  Along the way you will be exposed to leaders in the medical communications industry who will help you understand not just the “how” but the “why” behind everything we do.

To culminate the experience, you will be given the opportunity to present to the medical communications team at Cadent on a topic relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. During this presentation, you will pull from the 12-week experience to demonstrate your understanding of scientific and medical communications.

This is a 12-week internship; full-time over Summer 2023.
