Responsibilities

In this role, you will be a visible leader of the firm and drive commercial success by attracting and retaining top talent and building an effective team, securing profitable business, actively harvest accounts, create leads, and ensure accurate project forecasting and pricing. You will leverage your subject matter expertise in Medical Affairs to contribute to thought leadership opportunities by identifying industry trends and incorporating into client work. You will:

  • Grow the business through meaningful commercial contribution via business development, i.e., growing a book of business and bringing new accounts into the portfolio.
  • Build consulting delivery capability as an effective recruiter, manager and developer of people.
  • Create market eminence and play a senior leadership role in the practice through relevant thought leadership contributions, offer development and enhancement, and internal leadership in the practice area and firm as a whole.
  • Lead and develop client relationships and ensure delivery of well-structured projects that exceed client expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with other executives to design and deliver customized and innovative solutions for the client.
  • Provide leadership and refinement to the practice, resources, and staff development.
  • Lead on the Medical Affairs strategy in conjunction with the broader Syneos team
  • Lead on the Medical Affairs execution and ensure deliverables, timelines and budget are completed within expectations

Job Requirements

Along with demonstrated initiative, uncompromised integrity and a results-oriented mindset, the ideal candidate has:

  • Masters Degree or Doctoral degree preferred
  • 10+ years of Medical Affairs experience
  • 8+ years consulting experience providing strategic solutions for Pharmaceutical Commercial Launch
  • Must have breadth of global Medical Affairs Experience and successfully launched multiple commercial assets across the pharmaceutical and/or medical device sectors
  • Ability to understand Global medical trends, financial data, customer needs and assess competitive intelligence data
  • Demonstrated commercial ability and business acumen, including strategic and tactical planning and implementation
  • A strong history of successfully selling, delivering and growing revenues.
  • Experience building innovative business cases and managing toward consensus based on varied stakeholder priorities
  • Performance and Program Metrics Focus
  • Ability to convert strategy to actionable tactical plans and develop high performing operational teams
  • Strong leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long term needs, constructively resolve issues
  • Visibility in the biopharmaceutical industry and is viewed as a thought leader and trusted adviser to clients.
  • Known authority in the European Medical Affairs environment
  • Able to leverage external network to improve profitable revenues and market positioning
