The Vice President, Executive and Professional Search requires a strong leader and communicator who is driven, resourceful, and is well networked within the pharmaceutical, biotech and life science venture capital communities. After all, it takes grit to “get it done” and grace to recruit the top talent in the life sciences industry. Do you have what it takes?

This is an exciting opportunity for a recruiting professional who is accustomed to selling and delivering search services at the highest levels. They will be responsible for developing and leading our search practice throughout North America. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with c-suite executives, venture capital/private equity partners, client hiring managers, and human resource leaders to develop and secure new search opportunities, while also providing strategic leadership for the practice.



This is a unique opportunity to take an established search practice, add your leadership, knowledge, and expertise and take the practice to the next level and beyond.

  • Responsible for leading and growing our executive search practice
  • Your priorities will be 80% business development /10% high-profile search management/ 10% team leadership
  • Grow overall practice revenue and increase our percentage of C-level searches
  • Working with TSP leadership, develop and execute a strategic plan for the executive search practice
  • Collaborate and consult with Operations and Branding teams to establish operationally sound business practices
  • Endorse and support team usage of systems, tools, and processes to maximize business development, recruiting and client delivery success
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly/annual performance and financial goals
  • Proactively collaborate with other TSP and Syneos Health business leaders
  • Ability to travel to client meetings and anticipate 20-30% travel for this role

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Minimum 10 years experience in recruiting
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a retained, executive search practice; at least 3 of which have been focused within the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
  • Preference for people management leadership experience
  • Proven track record of business development success
  • Demonstrated consultative approach to selling executive search services; ability to “Win-the-Search”
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Office products
  • Preference for applicants with CRM and SalesForce experience
  • Demonstrate dependability in difficult circumstances and show a sense of urgency about getting results
