Overview

The Video Editor reports to the Video Editing Lead within our Creative Studios team. This position will fulfill a variety of Video Production departmental objectives; creative problem solving with an ability to take assets and run with them. Consistently helping to shape the content, storylines, and the final post production deliverable.


Seen as a production collaborator with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and visually. Partners with Sr. video editor, producers and agency project planners to understand the clients’ brand and support the creative vision and brand standards from a video post-production perspective.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiency in all aspects of creating finished projects with Adobe Creative Cloud, working within Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere, Media Encoder, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition.
  • Knowledge of third party plug-ins and digital video and audio file formats.
  • Ability to edit video content for multi-platform use and distribution, including online, broadcast and social media channels.
  • Video editing projects requiring significant creative input, advertising campaign-quality editing, both scripted and documentary-based projects, and the ability to take projects through to online final deliverables (color correction, sound mixing, graphics).
  • Working knowledge of web content platforms and streaming media encoding.
  • Ability to select and edit music to complement video projects.
  • Skills in media management and archiving.
  • Ability to analyze and improve post-production processes.
  • Working knowledge of video cameras, and audio recording equipment.
  • Conscientious asset management to organize and manage footage/assets, saving & maintaining files on company servers, and integrity of project files according to standard studio workflow processes.
  • Ability to edit in a wide variety of styles with oversight and supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional ability to function well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to assess creative briefs and review scripts to provide feedback to account teams.
  • An understanding of the most recent and emerging digital campaign delivery processes (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube) and broadcast delivery standards.
  • Comfortable working with various source footage scenarios; C300, RED, ALEXA, DLSRs, GoPro, etc.

  • Bachelor degree in visual communications, media or video production. (required)
  • Minimum of 2-4 years experience in a similar video editing / post-production department, preferably within an agency. (required)
  • Ability to work on several active projects (at various stages) at a time. (required)
  • Needs to be able to move from project to project on any given day. Extremely agile when it comes to shifting gears and moving from project to project seamlessly. (required)
  • Proven communication and decision-making skills. Also important is a positive attitude –open to feedback and discussing projects openly. (required)
